About Your Session

The most important thing about our session is to make your child comfortable and to have fun. We can do in studio portraits or on location sessions. I really suggest that for any children older than a year that we get outside and get them relaxed and having fun. Please do not be afraid to let your child run, dance, sing, laugh or goof off.

Most sessions typically last between 1- 2 hours. On location sessions are primarily captured with natural light. Because of this, these sessions need to be scheduled for either early morning or later in the afternoon. In studio sessions use professional lighting and are offered in my home. I offer a variety of backgrounds and some props. If a favorite blanket or stuffed animal will help your child relax however, then we can certainly attempt to incorporate those into the portraits.

Kristen | Parkview High School Senior

Monday, May 6th, 2013

Kristen is a fabulous young lady who is set to graduated from Parkview High School in just a few short weeks.  She’s a wonderful girl with a great heart and I can’t wait to see where life takes her!  Kristen and I had discussed a look she wanted to convey in her senior portraits.  Everyone has something that they feel defines them and their look.  Kristen is a country girl at heart and wanted that to show in her official senior portraits.  We combined an old barn, fun outfits, cowboy boots and a beautifully lit field.  I think we achieved the look she was hoping for!  Check out a few images from her senior session here!

Enjoy,

Philpot Sisters | Lilburn Photographers

Thursday, November 1st, 2012

I met these two sweet sisters on a beautiful fall day.  Their parents actually won this session in an auction to support the mission work at our church, Mountain Park UMC.  If you know my family personally, you know that we usually participate in ALOT of mission work over the course of a year.  Its something that means alot to our family and our faith.  So of course I wanted to donate to help our church support those mission works further!
We had a great session with these sisters, full of laughter, silliness and maybe a few Spidegirl Webs! ;)

Enjoy!

Twice the Cuteness | Lilburn Photographers

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2012

Well how can I resist talking about twice the cuteness when I’m photographing TWO sweet little boys who are just oodles of cute??? I can’t!!! Ryan and Kirby are the parents to these two precious guys (and Ryan also happens to work with my husband).  These little guys are known as the CWS twins at our church!

We had lots of fun, last week,  trying to get both boys to smile (or even just LOOK our way, lol) and we got some great images of them, in the process.  And we made sure to get some sweet family images too.  A session like this will certainly keep you laughing and keep you on your toes!  Enjoy!

Both these sweet boys wanted to eat the blanket! :)

Sweet little Emalyn | Lilburn Child Photographers

Friday, September 21st, 2012

I’ve gotten the chance to photograph sweet Emalyn twice in her life and each time has been a joy.  Did you see the images from this winter?  You can see them here.
Emalyn is just a precious, happy baby.  And sooo much fun to photograph.  Its a delight to see her again and I hope to continue to document her growth! This time, not only did we catch her crawling, standing, laughing and playing with also got to photograph her with both her mommy and daddy.  They love this little girl so much and its just so sweet to see!

Gorgeous Senior Jenna – Parkview High School Class of 2013 | Lilburn Photographers

Tuesday, September 18th, 2012

Last week, I had the privilege to photograph a gorgeous, sweet young lady from Parkview High School.  Jenna is classy, polite and just so fun to photograph!  We actually had to reschedule her session TWICE due to some tricky weather.  Thankfully we ended up with a wonderfully beautiful evening with fantastic light, perfect temperatures and a light breeze to keep us smiling.  We decided to use two entirely different locations to maximize the number of looks we could get for our session.  We started out with a cute Southern square that really had so many fun nooks and crannies for us.  We were able to get some gritty (and stinky!!!) alleys, some beautiful green grass, park benches and pretty flowers, and brick and concrete.  Then we moved on to a beautifully lit field that gave us a sweet, romantic look.  She rocked it all and I just love the images we captured!  Here’s a peek at them.

A sweet moment – Simonds Family | Lilburn Photographer

Saturday, June 2nd, 2012

When Nate Simonds first contacted me, I have to admit I was floored.  He wanted to book a session for his wife’s birthday.  It was an important birthday for her and because of that he wanted to have a session to capture his wife with their 7 year old daughter.  I thought “HOW sweet is this??!?!”.  Being a mom (and even more, being a mom of two girls) I instantly connected with the idea of this session and could picture it in my head.  I just KNEW I wanted to photograph this family.  Now when he first contacted me, it was still on the cusp of winter and everything was pretty dead and bare.  We decided we’d wait until it was pretty out.  I’m not sure we could have asked for a prettier day for our session, that’s for sure.
Tricia was pretty sure she didn’t want anything too formal or stiff.  YES, I can DO that!! More and more I grew excited to shoot this session.
I have to say, this session did not let me down.  Alexis (the daughter) was soo sweet, perfectly well behaved and excited for the pictures.  Tricia and Alexis were perfectly dressed and had lots of cute ideas for things they’d like to capture.  We had some beautiful light, a field (with not too many bugs or prickles) and a whole lot of love and sweet memories.  We talked alot, we laughed, we saw butterflies (and between Tricia, Alexis and I… we know how special THAT was!!) and most importantly; we captured the love, bond and connection between a beautiful, sweet mother and daughter.

As a photographer, I will admit SOMETIMES the editing really can bog you down.  You take a gazillion images during a great session, you had a blast shooting it and then you have to cull and cull (and cull some more) and edit and edit and edit some more.  But I HONESTLY have to say, it was a delight editing this session.  I smiled SO much while working on it.  Remembering, loving each image that came up on my screen.

I hope you love them too.  It’s so special to capture these sweet moments that connect us, that REALLY matter.

Kristen -Parkview High Class- 2013 | Lilburn Senior Photographer

Saturday, May 5th, 2012

Meet Kristen.  I seriously love this girl.  Responsible, mature, beautiful (inside and out), with a deep faith in God.  She’s a girl after my own heart! :)   We had a blast during our rep session.  Got pushed out of a location by some girl scouts, waited mid-shot while a walking troupe (I think that’s what they were) passed between us, rolled out around a bit in the grass and found out that we had a few extra things in common (giggle!).  I’m excited that we’ve already come up with some fabulous ideas for her official senior session in the fall but I do have to admit I just love these images we captured now!

If you are a friend of Kristen’s, ask her how you can get discounts on pictures with me and maybe even a few free prints yourself! Oh and if you love (and how could you not!) the images, be sure to like them on Facebook and maybe leave her a few comments!  Everyone loves comments, right?!?!  :)

Beautiful mom-to-be of twins! | Lilburn Photographer

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2012

I have to admit, I was never a glowing pregnant lady.  I mean, maybe I glowed but I was also super seriously miserable.  Pregnancy and I just didn’t always get along.  But some people just seem to exude health and happiness when they are pregnant.  And Kirby is just one of those people!  We photographed Kirby when she was about 32ish weeks pregnant with TWIN boys.  I’m so proud of her to say that she was able to carry those boys well past the “safe” date for twins and delivered two BIG, HEALTHY boys.   On to the pictures.  We made sure to capture a view images of the happy soon to be mom & dad… probably some of the last images they’ll have of just themselves in a good bit! Then we “released” Ryan and focused just on Kirby and her sweet twin belly!

Emalyn V.2.0 – Lilburn Photographer

Tuesday, February 7th, 2012

I promised I’d blog Emalyn twice and dangit, I keep my promises.   :)   I think I’ve mentioned once or twice that photographing this baby was fun… but I have to admit that culling and editing the MASSIVE amount of images took some time!  It was still fun because she’s sooo seriously precious but  man, was it time consuming!!  Check out more from our time together.

Man oh man oh man… Lilburn Ga Photographer

Thursday, January 26th, 2012

As you all know, I’m currently taking a little break from my business as I focus on homeschooling my children.  BUT (you knew there was a but coming, right?!) when a friend you’ve had since FOURTH grade has a baby… well that makes you NEED to pull out the camera, right?!!?  I had hoped to photograph sweet little Emalyn throughout her infancy but alas, moving four hours away throws a few kinks in the plans!!

So, here we are THIS precious baby turned SEVEN months on the day of our session!

Photographing babies who can sit up and smile and coo is just fun.  Photographing those same babies outside in my favorite field, at sunset is just ridiculously fun.  Add ALL that together with the fact that little Miss Emalyn is SERIOUSLY SERIOUSLY SERIOUSLY adorable and soooooooooooo happy — you’ve got it… I had the most FUN ever.  We changed this baby FOUR times, we put her in fields, in baskets, on blankets, on little doll beds and in her Mommy’s arms.  She was happy and sweet and never even fussed.  Especially once we let her chew on a little grass (hey, its fiber, right?!?)

So now I present quite possibly the happiest sitting up baby that I have ever ever photographed.  She’s got blue eyes and chubby cheeks for days and she’s gonna melt your heart.  :)

So this is just a tiny little scraping of all the FABULOUS images I capture of sweet little Emalyn.  Sooo, I think this will be PART ONE of a blog post for her! :)   Hahaha, my blog, I can do that, right?!

Enjoy!
